For clients who want a dietitian who shows up in their actual life, not just on a screen.
For clients who want structured ongoing support without in-person services yet.
Before I became a registered dietitian, I was the person trying to follow rigid plans and push through exhaustion because I thought health was just about “working hard.” I worked with an online coach who had allll of the confidence but none of the credentials (which I didn’t learn until later), and her poor advice left me about where you’d expect: undernourished, overtrained, and completely feeling worse than I did before meeting her.
It took years of my life and lots of unlearning to understand how much nuance real nutrition requires, especially for people managing health conditions like chronic illness, cardiovascular risk, metabolic concerns, or a generally complicated relationship with food.
Today, my work as a dietitian looks much different from the strict, one-size-fits-all coaching I trusted back in college. I don’t subscribe to the extremes or templated programs we see on social media, and I certainly don’t assume that simply “trying harder” is the answer. I want to help you understand what’s really going on in your body, and build something sustainable from there.
“She listens, encourages, and gives advice that fits my lifestyle as a busy mom. I wish I had found her sooner. I was hesitant to start working with a dietitian, but Karen made me feel so comfortable.”
— R.B.
“My A1C was creeping up despite exercising regularly, and I didn’t want to wait for medication. Karen used advanced labs and CGM data to build a structured, sustainable plan that lowered my A1c and stabilized my glucose within 4 months before it became a bigger problem.”
— P.O.
“As a nurse with a hectic schedule, I struggled with meal prep and maintaining a healthy weight. Karen gave me simple, realistic strategies that fit my lifestyle, and I finally feel in control of my nutrition.”
— C.F.
“As a highly active climber eating 3,000+ calories a day, I needed precision. Karen optimized my fiber, micronutrients, and recovery through lab data and performance metrics, improving energy, digestion, and consistency without compromising training.”
— A.L.
“I hit a frustrating weight-loss plateau despite disciplined workouts and healthy eating as a CEO who is constantly traveling. Karen built a performance-based nutrition system around my labs, travel schedule, and blood sugar patterns and the plateau finally broke without extreme dieting.”
— Y.A.
“As a busy mom juggling work and family, I had no time for complicated meal plans. Karen helped me build a simple, repeatable meal prep system that stabilized my energy and made healthy eating realistic for our whole household.”
— R.J.

Health By Habit is a private-pay practice. This means your care isn't shaped by coverage limitations or what insurance deems "medically necessary." Flexible payment plans are available, and many clients find that the depth and efficiency of the work makes it more cost-effective than ongoing trial and error.
Great question! A registered dietitian (AKA, me) is a credentialed health professional with formal training, licensure, certification, continuing education credits, and a code of ethics to honor.
“Nutritionist” isn’t a regulated term, which means anyone (including those without a license, certification, or formal education) can call themselves one. Unfortunately, this often leads to misinformation and unsafe practices that can put people’s health at risk.
Yes. I frequently work with clients managing weight, obesity, or metabolic conditions while on GLP-1 medications. Your full medication picture is always factored into your plan — including nutrient considerations, muscle preservation, and long-term outcomes.
